- Most low back and leg pain
- Most neck, shoulder and arm pain
- Most tendonitis including golfers elbow and tennis elbow, patella tendonitis (knee), foot tendonitis and coccydinia
- Most likely Bells Palsy and Trigeminal Neuralgia
- TMJ and Myofascial Pain Dysfunction
- Fibromyalgia, Myofascial Pain Syndrome (fibromyositis)
- Carpal tunnel and most Repetitive Stress Injuries
- Whiplash
- Post-polio syndrome
- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Epstein-Barr (EBV) syndrome
- Most chronic pain
Physical Equivalents of TMS
- Gastrointestinal disorders - GERD, hiatus hernia, ulcer, IBS, colitis, constipation
- Most common headaches, tension and migraine, Raynauds phenomenon
- Skin disorders - acne, eczema, hives and psoriasis
- Disorders of the immune system - allergies (hayfever), asthma, EBV
- Frequent urination
- Benign disorders of heart (e.g. palpitations, ectopic beats, PAT)
- Tinnitus, dizziness, hypoglycemia
- Tendency towards frequent infections - colds, UTIs, yeast infections, recurrent herpes
Psychological Equivalents of TMS
- Anxiety
- Panic attacks
- Depression
- Phobias
- OCD
- Eating Disorders
Fear is also an equivalent of TMS
- Fear of physical activity and further injury
- Fear of recurrent symptoms
- Fear of personal consequences (worth, social, responsibilities)
- Fear contributes to the intensity and exacerbation of our symptoms
- Fear may be more effective than the pain itself as a TMS symptom
Structural abnormalities blamed for pain (but most likely the pain is just a symptom of TMS)
- Osteoarthritis of the spine (normal aging)
- Disc abnormalities
- Scoliosis
- Spondylolisthesis, Spondylolysis and Transitional vertebrae
- Spinal stenosis
- Osteoarthritis of hip joint
- Rotator cuff wear and tear
- Minor knee meniscal wear and tear
- Chondromalacia patella
